There is occasional rappeling down angled hills and jumping off of ledges. ![]() Within the Wyoming forest and fields, you move from Point A to Point B as Delilah orders, and frequently hold Shift to choose a dialogue option, most of which result in a similar outcome. The gameplay itself is fairly simplistic in nature. There, he is introduced via radio to Delilah, his supervisor. In an attempt to avoid the issue of a wife who doesn’t even know his name anymore, Henry accepts a job as a fire watchman in a national forest in Wyoming. A visual novel-esque dialogue chain makes up the first part of this game, introducing the player to the tragic story of Henry, an average kinda dude whose wife, an esteemed professor, slowly falls victim to early-onset dementia. ![]() Be warned, I won’t hold back on spoilers. Murder? Madness? Conspiracy? Who knows, but I bought it like the sap I am. As the release date drew near and notifications appeared on Steam about it, I was intrigued by the idea of a mystery in the forests of Wyoming. When I first saw this game’s trailer way back at E3 2015, I believe, I was interested. I won’t waste any time getting to the main point of this review: Firewatch is a disappointment.
